Herman Cain, the “happy go lucky” Darkie 5
I try to steer clear of racial generalizations because they undermine the complex nature of a subject that affects all of us in many different ways. But in the case of Herman Cain, I must make an exception. He offends sensibilities that I can neither ignore nor excuse.
The fascination with color boundaries has been well-established since before the Civil War and has only heightened since the election of President Obama. Still, I thought minstrels and darkie iconography had gone underground in the United States until Herman “Uncle Remus” wow gold Cain came to town.
He learned from Betty Boop that the key to political success is to say any jaw-dropping, outlandish, insulting thing that comes into his head and to…put on the right show. Clearly, he decided to perform as a stereotyped caricature of a black person… the “happy go lucky” darkie…. “he’s always so positive….“he has such a sunny disposition.”
Even, otherwise well-grounded media commentators beam with delight that, “he’s such an affable guy and he can sing too”. There cheap wow gold seems little concern about his Constitutional knowledge, his voting record or his understanding of civics.
And Cain delivers. Spewing the usual thoughtless and inconsiderate claptrap that justifies racism. Of course, Cain almost forgot himself when he was asked about Rick Perry’s “Niggerhead” rock and called it “insensitive“. He quickly stepped and fetched that comment back then promised to electrocute some illegal aliens (as if they’re from Mars) to make up for it.
He is nothing more than another diablo 3 gold act in the Republican’s farcical show of "inclusion" and “tokenism” designed to give the illusion that the GOP has a “big tent” and to give comfort and validity to Republican racists. Afterall, a black man with the opportunity to run for the highest office in the land under the Republican banner is sure to dispel all notions of racism.
One should wonder, if as polls show, Cain really is the favored candidate, why he has not garnered as much financial support as Perry and Romney? It’s because he’s a “ringer”, the ultimate d3 gold race card and a modern-day version of the house slave who thought himself “superior” to the field slave.….“if you don't have a job and you're not rich, blame yourself."
The Republicans, who skillfully play every angle, always keep a “good negro” on the rolls. Remember Armstrong Williams, the conservative Black commentator, who was always ready and willing to sing the praises of the Grand Old Party and of course, remind Black Democrats how mistaken they were about the party‘s merits? USA Today revealed that Armstrong Williams diablo 3 items had been paid to promote Republican issues.
Paul Abrams wrote in the Huffington Post:
“Having come from where he did, Cain deserves a great deal of credit for what he has achieved in his life….he ought not to be criticized for "sitting out the civil rights movement". He kept his head down, worked hard…” In other words, he knew his place. Afterall, Jim Crow was legalized subjugation and Cain just wanted to keep his nose clean. Give me a break! There is nothing unique about where Herman Cain is from, his effort, nor his accomplishments…not cheap d3 gold in my neighborhood.
In every sense of the word, not unlike Armstrong Williams, Alan Keyes, and Justice Thomas, he is a sellout, delegitimizing the Civil Rights movement and the sacrifices made by countless patriotic Blacks and Whites. He casually dismisses the price paid by so many in order to secure the right to vote while he takes for granted his right to have that hard-earned vote cast for him. “Blacks have been brainwashed“….they don’t know any better.
Well, I know better. He is not a serious contender for the Presidency. He’s just gaming the system, not unlike Gingrich and others in the running who know that haven’t a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the nomination. He is merely selling books, raising his profile and making money. Patriotic pimping. It’s the career path Betty Booth opened to common folk, who are willing to say and do anything that will undermine President Obama and the Democratic party, indeed democracy itself.
I for one wish Herman Cain would take his spongy pizza, apples and oranges and shuffle on off to Ubecky, Becky, Becky, Stan, Stan and stop getting on my nerves.
