Many students rushed a train ticket sales agent in an attempt to buy a ticket home for the winter break in Nanjing city, capital of East China's Jiangsu province on Dec 28, 2011, the day the rail authority started selling student tickets for the Spring Festival travel period. Students can buy tickets for any date during the travel rush, Jan 8, 2012, to Feb 16, by telephone, Internet or ticket agent. During the period, about 235 million trips are expected on trains, up 6.1 percent from last year.
