Indian women keen to take self-defense courses

Recently many Indian women are keen to take training courses of self defense in a bid to protect their own personal safety in public places, as the barbaric gang-rape of a 23-year-old medical student on a moving bus in the capital of India has awakened Indian women's concepts of self defense.

The rape cases in India have been on the rise in recent years, and a total of 635 rape cases have been registered in 2012 as compared to 572 cases in 2011, according to indian official statistics.
