Spring is set to be a busy season for high street giant River Island, not only will it welcome global popstar Rihanna's collection into its stores, but it will launch its latest Design Forum range with Georgia HardingeA 14-piece collection comprising of dramatic gowns and accompanying accessories have bee conceived by the Paris-trained, London-based designer, which will drop in stores from early April.

Inspired by the work of Swiss surrealist painter and sculptor H.R. Giger, the range promises to draw on the depth and movement of the artist's work and the dramatically sculpted elements which have become Hardinge's signature. Highlights include a printed dress made from neoprene and a sleek, printed maxi skirt with a matching top.

The image above shows a model wearing a one-off creation used in a short film created by film maker Alex Turvey which will be shown part of the British Fashion Council's ash/On Film event at London to launch the collections. The gown will then be auctioned off for charity.

Last season emerging design talent William Tempest enjoyed the honour of collaborating with the retailer.
