How about a burger and fries with a side of hutong drunken debauchery? One of our favorite live music venues, Temple Bar, is primed to start serving up burgers and plenty of rockin' snacks starting Thursday 4.

But these aren't just any burgers. These are Burger Counter burgers. The guys behind the Gulou eatery made the move across the street after their meddlesome landlord edged her way into daily operations. As far as we're concerned, Temple Bar is the new Burger Counter.

The menu looks promising, too. Check your levels with a ‘Sound check salad’, but save your energy for the ‘Headliner burgers’. A ‘Fat Elvis’ provides plenty of calories for hip-shakin' with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickle, tomato and onion (but shouldn't it really just be peanut butter, banana and bacon?). ‘The Temple Burger’ features cheddar and mozzarella cheese atop home-made chili sauce, lettuce, pickle, tomato and onion.

Prices leave plenty of money for getting wasted later, with burgers starting at 35RMB. Plus, you can add an extra patty for only 15RMB, you glutton you.

There are no plans for lunch, as the bar only serves food from 7pm onwards to coincide with the arrival of its music-loving reprobate clientele. Head over for a late dinner and some good music or stumble in for a hearty midnight snack.
