BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The volume of computers, communication and consumer electronics sold through China's business-to-customer (B2C) market hit 77.02 billion yuan (about 12.23 U.S. dollars) in 2011, according to a report released in Beijing.

The figure represents a 200 percent year-on-year increase, according to the publication by Chinese market research firm Analysis International.

Booming online demand for computers, communication and consumer electronics (known as 3C products) contributed much to the growth of B2C, which includes businesses selling products or services to end-user customers, according to Zhang Tao, of Analysis International.

Apart from E-commerce 3C specialists such as 360buy.com and Suning.com, some other web-platforms also extended or set up sales channels for 3C products in 2011.

Tmall, the B2C platform of Chinese online shopping giant Taobao, received a 3C sales volume of over 22 billion yuan in the year.

The likes of Tmall.com, 360buy.com and buy.qq.com may face a 3C price war in 2012, observed Zhang.
