China Central Television (CCTV) sends their best breed of business reporters to cover the World Economic Forum Thursday in Dalian, Liaoning Province, continuing their large-scale coverage of the meeting earlier this year in Davos, Switzerland, according to Guo Zhenxi, director of CCTV Finance Channel.

Over 1,300 industry, government and intellectual leaders will gather at the three-day event to debate and define the course needed to relaunch growth, according to the host's website.

It will focus on addressing global economic recovery linked with sustainable development.

The national TV station set up a special program, called Night of China, at the end of January to report on the Swiss meeting, interviewing over 50 world leading economists and business leaders.

Meanwhile, more than 100 business and government leaders attended the program, including the Nobel laureate Edmund Phelps.

CCTV interviewed more economists for the program than it ever has before.

With China continuously becoming more and more important on the world stage, reports covering finance and economics will be raised to a new level as well.

The TV station said it strives to build a bridge to convey information on economics to the people.

The current crisis taught people that trust and confidence would drive the recovery, Guo said.

However, restoring trust and confidence would require an honest and deep review of the world's underlying values and ethics, Klaus Schwab, founder of World Economic Forum, said in January at the forum.

Business needs to look deeply at their systems of remuneration and governance. Industry leaders, policymakers and regulators, as well as consumers all had to consider the damage wrought by excessive greed, Schwab said.

In today's highly interdependent world, the pursuit of short-term gain is not a sufficient driver of optimal decision-making. The systemic and intergenerational impact of people's actions are more important than they had ever been before, he said.
