Jul. 6, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)<601398><1398>, the world's biggest lender by market value, on Thursday announced that it plans to inject RMB 3 billion into ICBC Financial Leasing Co Ltd (ICBC Leasing), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chinese lender.

After the transaction, ICBC Leasing's total registered capital will be RMB 5 billion, said ICBC in a statement.

However, the deal is still subject to approval from shareholders.

In late June, ICBC inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus on aircraft financing and leasing. ICBC Leasing will offer aircraft delivery financing solutions for the purchase of up to 70 Airbus planes assembled at the Tianjin final assembly line, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.

Tianjin-based ICBC Leasing, established in November 2007 with a registered capital of RMB 2 billion, was the first financing leasing company approved by the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) after regulators permitted banks to invest in financial leasing firms in March 1997.
